In 1960, a Father and Son Made a Simple Promise.
In 1960, father and son A.D. Austin and J.D. Austin started a well drilling company in South Carolina with one rig and one commitment: do honest work for honest people. Today, that commitment carries through to A.D.'s grandson and great grandsons.
They didn't have a marketing plan. They didn't have a website. They had calloused hands, deep knowledge of South Carolina's underground geology, and a reputation that spread one neighbor at a time.
Sixty-six years and four generations later, that handshake promise still drives everything we do. We've drilled through Lowcountry sand and Upstate granite. We've installed pumps in 100-degree August heat and repaired wells in January ice storms. We've watched Columbia grow from a small capital city into a metro area — and we've been providing its water the entire time.
