About Us
South Carolina's Most Trusted Well Company.
Family-owned and operated since 1985. Four decades of drilling, repairing, and maintaining well systems across the SC Midlands — and we're still at it.
Who We Are
A Family Business Built on Doing the Job Right
Austin Drilling & Well Repair has been drilling wells and keeping water flowing for SC families since 1985. We started as a small operation out of West Columbia and grew by doing one thing well: showing up, diagnosing the problem honestly, and fixing it right the first time.
We're not a national franchise. We're not a call center that dispatches strangers. When you call Austin Drilling, you're getting a local crew that knows the geology, the soil conditions, and the county requirements of the Midlands region — because we've been working here for 40 years.
Today we serve Columbia, Newberry, Prosperity, Irmo, Lexington, and dozens of rural communities across the region. Our services cover the full water and wastewater lifecycle: well drilling, well repair, pump installation, water treatment, irrigation wells, and septic services.

Early Years
Our History
Four Decades in the Ground
We drilled our first well in the SC Midlands in 1985. The region's geology — sandy soils, shallow water tables in some areas, deeper fractured rock aquifers in others — became our specialty. We've seen it all.
Over the decades we expanded from pure drilling into pump services, water treatment, irrigation wells, and septic — because our customers kept asking. If you're on well water, we can handle everything your property needs.
We invested in modern drilling equipment while keeping our roots: a family-run operation where the people making decisions are the same people doing the work. No layers. No handoffs to a subcontractor you've never met.
Today
Modern Equipment, Same Commitment
Our fleet of drilling rigs handles everything from standard residential wells to deep commercial installations. We run modern rotary and cable-tool rigs, properly maintained and operated by licensed drillers who've spent their careers in the field — not in training videos.
Every truck carries the most common submersible pump brands and sizes. Most residential pump replacements happen the same day we diagnose the problem — no waiting for a parts order.
We serve customers from our two locations: West Columbia (main office) and Newberry. Both lines are staffed Monday–Friday 7am–6pm, with emergency lines answered 24/7.
